 Our base
lodge has
been selected for economy, comfort and location. It's located on the banks
of the Kenai River within walking distance of downtown shopping and good
restaurants in Soldotna, Alaska. Bank fishing for our guests can be done
from the rear of the lodge on private property where we teach the techniques for catching the different
salmon species. This is
especially important, as public access is very limited along most of the
river. We also have a broad menu of Private Cabins, Bed & Breakfasts,
Motels, Hotels, and even have a tent sight location for the real ruff it
buffs.
Peak summer time brings long
hours of daylight, (approx. 21 hours), with only 2 to 3 hours of subdued
dusk like nighttime. This provides the opportunity for extended activities
such as fishing, sightseeing, family time or just a simple photography
stroll.
 Main
fishing and sightseeing activities begin in early May and extend until
early October. Seasons are as follows: (seasons by week/Saturday to
Saturday)
FISHING RUNS FOR 2010
May 1st - June 7th: Early saltwater Kings and Halibut
June 8th - July 5th: 1st run Kings, Sockeye, Halibut, and
Rainbow Trout
July 6th – July 31st: 2nd run Kings, Sockeye, Halibut,
Rainbow Trout and Silvers
August 1st - August 31st: Early run Silvers, Pinks, Halibut,
and Rainbow Trout
Sept 1st - Sept. 27th: Late run Silvers, Halibut, and Rainbow
Trout
Special discount rates are available for packages depending on group size,
season selected and reservations that are made well in
advance. We have hosted large groups of up to 75 guests during peak weeks.
We're not out on the water all day, we pride ourselves in being on hand to
assist our guests with maps, sites to visit, fish processing with best
methods of preservation, and best places to dine. We have barbeques for
interested guests, teach salmon setup tying and proper fishing techniques
for the difficult to catch Sockeye Salmon from the banks of the Kenai
River. Our goal is for your trip to be a "dream come true" experience and
make you want to come back again and again.
